Professor Edmund T. Rolls performs full-time research at the Oxford Centre for Computational Neuroscience, and at the University of Warwick, and has acted as Professor of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford, and as Fellow and Tutor of Corpus Christi College, Oxford. His research links neurophysiological and computational neuroscience approaches to human functional neuroimaging and neuropsychological studies in order to provide a fundamental basis for understanding human brain function and its disorders.

The story was good, the plot was great but Luukas was absolutely brilliant

This is the second book in the Deathless Night Series and it was intense. This story has Luukas and Keira as the lead pair.

Luukas is a 600 year old master vampire, tricked and trapped by Leeha.Leeha is a seductive vampire hell bent on world domination. She wants to rule the vampire kingdom with Luukas as her King.

Leeha was obsessed with Luukas and is determined to break him after he repeatedly refuses her. Leeha's Creator abused her and convinced her that she was destined for greatness. This was a messed up relationship which moulded Leeha in a major way.

Leeha was 50 shades of Psychotic and the only solution for now is to lock up your vampires.

Leeha uses Keira to control Luukas. Luukas feels all the pain his tormentors inflict on him while Keira keeps any actual physical damage at bay. Keira hates hurting Luukas but Leeha threatens to kill her sister if Keira refuses to co operate.

Luukas refuses to give in after being tortured for 7 years but his mind is fragile. After being rescued Keira returns Luukas's powers but he keeps her as his prisoner. Luukas is at war with himself - part of him cares for Keira while the other wants to hurt her.

Circumstances allow Luukas to have a little tit for tat and this is where his dark side rules. His need for vengeance surfaces but the bonded male in him puts in a good fight. Keira was his witch, his angel but he refuses to accept her as his mate.

This is the first time in PNR where you see a vampire with an identity crisis. His reactions are realistic, his pain is overwhelming and his instincts are divided.

Keira was calm and caring, she was resigned to her death and desperate for forgiveness.

There is no rest for the wicked and Leeha snatches Aiden during the attack. She gleefully reveals her diabolical plans and has a soft spot for Aiden.

Nik acts as mediator between Luukas and Keira and is worried about both of them.

The story was good, the plot was great but Luukas was absolutely brilliant. He was the perfect example of a conflicted vampire.
The author is consistent and the series gets better with every book.

Great second book!

I give this book 4 hearts

The second book in the series focuses on Luukas and Keira. Please read Blood hunger before moving on to this one, it's worth it.
So back to the story. As we found out in the first book Luukas was held by the crazy vamp Leeha but she couldn't have done it without the forced assistance of Emma's sister Keira who is a powerful witch.
Keira was forced to commit awful torturous things to Luukas or forfeit her sisters life. She never wanted to hurt Luuk she tried her best to save him from the hell they were living in for 7 long years, but everyone has a breaking point. He does not escape Leeha's clutches with his sanity intact, and what's more he can't seem to be without Keira. He needs her as a mate but his brain can't seem to decide if she's good or bad. His struggle to find peace with Keira is heartbreaking at times but he is so strong, and Keira refuses to give up on him.
We get to revisit with Nik and Emma...I love them and a beautiful reunion long time coming between Emma and Keira. A great second book can't wait to read the next. Sexy vamps and strong snarky witches what's not to love!

Great PNR!!

This is interesting because the time frame of the story overlaps with part of book 1. I didn't think I would enjoy that, but the author made it work! I enjoyed Luk and Keira story; not as much as Nik and Emma, but it was still great! I am looking forward to more in this series! Check out my full review here: http://www.thebookdisciple.com

About the Author
Rashid A. Buttar, DO, FAAPM, FACAM, FAAIM, is a graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences, College of Medicine and Surgery. He trained in General Surgery and Emergency Medicine and served as Brigade Surgeon and Director of Emergency Medicine while serving in the U.S. Army. Dr. Buttar is board certified in Clinical Metal Toxicology, Preventive Medicine, is board eligible in Emergency Medicine and has achieved fellowship status in three separate medical societies. He is the medical director for Advanced Concepts in Medicine, the Center for Advanced Medicine in Charlotte, NC, a clinic specializing in treating patients with cancer and heart disease refractory to conventional medical treatments. He also serves as Director of Clinical Research and Development for VSAB Medical Labs where he is extensively involved in polypeptide research and development of innovative drug delivery mechanisms. Dr. Buttar has lectured worldwide to physicians and has been featured in national and international news media including TV, radio and newspaper. He has testified in front of the North Carolina State Congress as well as the US Congressional SubCommittee on Human Rights and Wellness at the federal level and continues to serve as faculty to teach conventional medical courses such as Advanced Trauma Life Support, PALS and ACLS. Dr. Buttar currently serves as Visiting Scientist at North Carolina State University and is ranked as one of The Top 50 Doctors in the US since 2003 by Phillips Publishing, Healthy Directions, and the world famous cardiologist, Dr. Stephen Sinatra.

This book is my FAVORITE health book ever

This book is my FAVORITE health book ever!!!! I'm a natural health practitioner, and I've never found a health book that says so much of what I tell my clients.... and he has done the research to back it up. I recommend it to all my clients. His passion for helping both his clients and his previously autistic son is evident throughout. He doesn't just go with what mainstream medicine offers, but focuses on what actually brings health to people, and for that I'd have to also call him quite courageous.

Dr Buttar offers so much practical helpful advice for maintaining one's health. Each of his 9 steps is well supported with research and references. The stories he includes about his clients to illustrate each of his steps are very well written, both interesting and engaging, and VERY inspiring..... makes me want to exercise and drink water among other things.

I love that he's set up a book owners reference website where I can go find additional and updated information. I had a little trouble getting set up with it initially, but perseverance finally worked, so don't give up. And through owning this book I have access to a free audio series of Medical Secrets.

This was an easy read and extremely informative

This was an easy read and extremely informative. I appreciated the true stories Dr. Buttar shared, as well as the well outlined steps for maximum health. However, one of the steps was to take a specific product. Although he was very transparent about his association with the makers of the product, I still don't appreciate being sold a product in this way. I prefer not to spend my money on someone else's advertising. I think this lacks integrity. As if that wasn't annoying enough, I found that his website - specifically for purchasers of this book - was very un-user-friendly, and the information was outdated. Furthermore, the product he was pushing is no longer even available.

A lot of redundancy, I assume to get the points across. I am a nurse, by profession, but always open to more natural ways of combating health issues. I am going to implement his strategies in my own life, to see where they lead. I am particularly interested in his proprietary formula to get the thyroid, adrenal, pituitary triad back in sync.
